Tommy Strange & friends in San Francisco
organize
monthly music / poetry gigs to raise
money to help refugee families in Jordan.
          Thank you, Tommy!
Regina and her family in Vancouver BC are
helping this man to pay his monthly rent in
Amman...
Suhail's story:
He is 68 years old. He is blind. Suhail was
threatened by sectarian millitia so he left
Baghdad a year and a half ago.  The militia killed
one of his daughters 19 years old, Zaineb,

His wife and two daughters left Amman to visit
their relatives in Baghdad. When they returned
after two weeks, the Jordanian border guards
rejected them and sent them back to Baghdad.

Suhail was alone for many months. He went many
many times to Interior Ministry to tell his story but
received no help.  Suhail was terribly depressed
without his family and relied on the kindness of
his neighbors for help.

Finally this past winter, Suhail was reunited with
his family at last!  CRP thanks Regina and her
family for the support they gave him in his
challenging times.
Author, activist and longtime CRP
supporter,
John Ross, celebrated his
70th birthday by holding a bash and
inviting his guests to celebrate with him
by donating to purchase a camera as
a micro-project for Muna.  Muna now
can make a living in Amman by filming
weddings and taking portraits.

Muna says her lifelong  dream has
come true thanks to John & friends
Maureen and her family read about one of our families whose house
was bare of furniture and whose 5 children had no toys.  Maureen's
family donated funds to buy carpeting, a table and chairs, propane
heater, and toys for the children.

What a huge difference this family made for a refugee family in Amman!
When Frances heard that Iklass had to sell the sewing machine that
CRP funds bought for her micro-project to pay for an emergency
surgery, she bought a new one to replace it!

Iklass is incredibly grateful for the generosity
of others so far away who care
Collateral Repair Project thanks the Vets for Peace,
Iraq Water Project for funding to bring water and
new restrooms for the boys
school in Samawa
We hope to have new photos here soon of the
completed improvements funded by IWP
Mori and her two sons wanted to help a family with sons
around the same age as hers.  Mori's family funded for Um
Tariq to buy materials so that she could use her talent in rattan
work to begin a cottage industry

Thanks to Mori's family, Um Tariq has been able to improve her
family's situation by so much that they were able to move out of
their very small and dank home into a more comfortable one!
Medford Oregon Citizens for Peace & Justice hosted CRP team members,
Sasha & Mary at a community potluck and the wonderful people attending donated
almost $3000 to support many CRP projects!

We thank CPJ and the Southern Oregon community for their support for our project!
WILPF (Women's International League for Peace & Freedom) of
Ashland, Oregon
sets up a table outside of Ashland Food Co-op every 2
weeks to raise awareness of the Iraq refugee crisis and Collateral Repair
Project's work to address the needs of Iraqis in exile.  WILPF also collects
contributions to support our projects.

We thank the women of WILPF Ashland for their efforts and all of those
who, by tossing their change (and many times, more) into their collection jar
each week, make a significant contribution to CRP
Would you like to see you or your group's name
here and how you have made a difference
in the lives of Iraqi refugees?

Here's how
The creative women of CODEPINK Ashland, Oregon braved the cold
December streets of their city, wrote their own political Holiday carols
which they sang boisterously as they carried donation buckets to collect
funds for CRP projects

We thank them for their warm hearts and support of CRP!

08 where she met with our Amman Team, our Women's Craft Co-operative
members and other Iraqi families.
CODEPINK included CRP in it's Mothers
Day Alert, inviting their supporters to contribute toward some of our projects
to help Iraqi mothers & children.

A huge thanks to CODEPINK, Medea & their supporters
from the CRP Team members and Iraqi families in Amman & Iraq
for 'being collateral repair' in such a big way!
